It is a fun festival, but the after effects are not that fun. So, I am here to rescue you from that embarrassing after effects. You just need to follow these simple tricks and you can have a blast this Holi, without any staining or burning fear.
The Tricks for Pre-Holi Treatment are as follows:
  • Oiling: Use a plenty of oil and massage it properly on your whole body and hairs. Using oil on the body is the best way to protect your skin and hair from colors, as the oil act a barrier between your skin or hair and colors, so in that way your skin is protected. You can use oil, moisturizer, Aloe Vera Gel or Vaseline on your body.
  • Tie your hairs: Do not keep your hairs open, make a pleat or make a bun to save your hairs. You can even use a cap or bandanna to cover your hairs.
  • Wear Full sleeves: Wear full sleeves shirt and full pants to protect your skin from colors as much as possible and try to wear cotton clothes and avoid denims, as they become heavy and baggy, for playing Holi.
  • Remove contact lens: Don't forget to remove your contact lens while playing Holi.
  • Hydrate: Try to hydrate your body by drinking water or juice as much as possible, as dry skin is more sensitive towards the colors.
  • Wear Nail-polish: The part which gets stained the ugliest are the nails and cuticles, so apply a thick coat of any nail paint, even boys can also use a clear nail paint to save their nails and cut your nails too.
  • Use Sunscreen: Please do apply sunscreen on your body to protect it from the sun damage and ensure it is waterproof or water-resistant, either it will slip from your body as play with water and apply lip balm too, to protect your lips.
  • Herbal Colors: Use Herbal colors or non-toxic colors, so that we don't get any allergy from those harmful colors and try to use chemical-free stuffs.
The Tricks for Post-Holi Treatment are as follows:
  • Don't Exfoliate: After playing Holi, try to get rid of colors by using cold or Luke warm water only, avoid hot water, don't try to harshly rub or exfoliate your skin as it can damage your skin and even cause wrinkles.
  • Gram(Besan)+Milk: Use a mixture of besan+milk or curd+ Honey (If you have dry skin) in a little paste like consistency and try to remove the color using that mixture and most of the color will be removed using this mixture only and also it will hydrate your skin.
  • Moisturize: After bathing,  moisturize your skin and hairs well as Holi chemicals can dry out your skin.
  • Avoid skin-treatment: Don't go to Salon or parlor for any facial or skin treatments as it will damage the skin even more. The treatment will make colors to seep into your skin, which is not a good sign for sure. Also don't blow-dry or iron your hairs.
These are very easy and simple tips that will make your Holi even more colorful, safe and enjoyable without worrying about the staining problems. I hope these tips and tricks will help you out in any possible way.
